It's a whole new world upstairs. Marlene’s Market and Deli is like a grocery store that sells natural food with a restaurant right inside of it. I have been to Marlene’s many times before but never realized there’s a deli upstairs. Glad I asked an employee downstairs about the fresh baked goods, and she directed me upstairs. All this time I thought upstairs is only for employees. That's not the case and I have pictures to prove it :) Boy, they got a salad bar, sandwich, and deliciously baked goods! There's plenty of seating for customers as well. Be sure to check it out the next time you're at Marlene’s Market & Deli.

After deliberating on this establishment for over a decade, I see Marlene’s as the ones fighting the horde of blight in this city, pushing back on it, along with the hotels and restaurants in the area. I see Federal Way as having more potential than Redmond, but it takes people who believe in it and who are willing to invest in making it a reality, whether buying up apartment complexes and making them nicer or selling food that keeps the community healthy. That’s why I don’t mind paying a bit more. So, to the social media manager who stumbles upon this, please tell your company I personally wanted to thank them for believing in the community, and I hope they can invest more in improving the downtown Federal Way area, both along 320th and 348th, and pretty much anywhere else they’re willing to help. Also, please talk to the property owner and property management about putting up security cameras. I can even give you the mayor’s cell phone number if you want to go in that direction; just ask. Until then, I recommend parking in front of the entrance. I’ll remember the awkward conversations I had there for years to come. It’s all good. I’d say “May the force be with you”, but I’m told that’s not a good idea by others regarding religion. Take care, and good luck. I wish you success.

Love love love this outfit. When I don’t shop Costco for large quantity and great prices … and I don’t like the high prices of Metro Market … , I shop Marlene’s for organic produce, grains and breads at very reasonable prices. I just discovered they have a Tacoma store and cannot wait to check it out.

I’ve been shopping at Marlene’s Market & Deli in Federal Way for 6+ years. Appreciate the convenient location near the I5 freeway, ample parking & customer seating, and the elevator located at the back of the vitamin aisles. I shop at Marlene’s mostly for the variety of organic and local selections rarely found nearby. With prices more moderate than other natural food store competitors. The kind, friendly, professional staff - like Joyce, John, others - make this a store I look forward to shopping at. Sometimes a short wait to ask advice - some customers can be quite chatty. But it's understandable. Sometimes a short explanation of one’s health journey is needed to obtain the applicable vitamins, minerals, and product selections. Looking just like their website photo’s, the 1st floor has nice selections of: fresh fruits & vegetables, dairy, breads, and bulk: snacks, coffees, teas, spices, grains, and more. But I usually start upstairs to place my order at the deli / smoothie bar. While waiting, I shop the soup & salad bar, and sections with fresh pre-made: sandwiches. Then onto the fresh baked goods, with pies & cakes sold by the slice! More health-focused than most other stores, it is more a market, deli, grocery store, rolled into one. Marlene’s, and helpful employees like John, are some of the reasons my health has actually improved over the years since I’ve been shopping there. Highly recommend: Great salmon cakes & samosas, Awesome pumpkin cheesecake slices.

I was able to share the wisdom of Marlene's with my roommate who has many health concerns. She has been able to find some rare dried something or other here so I'm glad for that! I've always loved Marlene's deli & salad bar upstairs. The tuna casserole is my fav savory item. Though I noticed they don't keep as many items in their case like they used to, but rather have individual servings in a cool case. They have soups at the salad bar also. I don't care if my salad comes out to a $20 salad because it's superb! I also normally grab favorite baked goods such as their corn muffins, sliced loaf cake, scones, & cookies. Plus their chocolate mousse & different pie slices are so amaze. Plan on spending $$$$ & treat yo-self!
